i was watching this old movie on turner classic movies called, of all things, "the wallflower." it was about this girl who never got any of the dudes, while her half-sister got all of 'em. they were both good-looking, etc, but the "smart" girl never got asked out. so, one night there was this dance, and she cut the sleeves off her dress and turned it into a strapless dress, and she acted like her stepsister, and flirted with all the dudes. and all the guys, who never looked once at her before, were doing double-takes all over the place. needless to say, this movie, which was made sometime in the 1950s, really pissed me off. it ended with the girl getting engaged to her childhood buddy, who had decided to stop being in love with her half-sister (even though he proposed to the slutty one first), and marry "the wallflower" instead. i was disgusted on sooooo many levels. the message it sent to all those girls who saw it was, "better act like a ditz who puts out or you'll never get a man, ladies! guys don't want an equal, especially not intellectually. if you've got a brain that you use on a regular basis, you will die alone! ahahahahaaa!" and you don't have to wonder why these women got to be so fucked up, if this is the type of shit they were fed on a regular basis.
*ahem* but yeah. angry rant now over. aaargh, now i've got the song from "brazil" stuck in my head. ah jest lurves that movie. i watch it waaay more than is probably healthy, though. oh well. terry gilliam is a genius director dude.
...and now i've got a table i've gotta dance on. i hope that dude doesn't mind if i stomp his history book....

Ahhh, what have I created!?!?! I knew reggaeton was the devil, but I didn't think it would affect those I loved! Welcome to the land of true freaks. You'll love it here, "I guarantee it." Listen to Daddy Yankee's song, Mirame. Good stuff.
