snooooow!

when i got done my art history final, i had to take the blue book and stuff to my prof, and when i went outside, it was snowing! before you ask, i'm sure i did ok, i did a great essay on manet's olympia, it's just that i might've confused some aspects of baroque and rococo architecture. oh well. and yes, i did have to go outside to get to my prof's office. there's this weird thing with the drama, art and music buildings; basically, they're all connected in one big knossos-like labyrinth that's a pain in the ass to navigate. they need those "you are here" signs, like they have in shopping malls. one must beware of trying to take shortcuts in that place. so yeah, i had to go outside and around to get to the prof's office, otherwise the 2nd floor door might have been locked (because it is sometimes for no reason), and then i would've had to jump off the balcony like i did on one memorable occasion previously. i think that's the only reason why they have an open-air second floor balcony going all the way around one side, so people can jump off it when the door is locked. long story short, i find it simpler (but not faster) to go around the outside and through the front of the theater building.
but it was snowing! and my favorite kind of snow too, what i like to call "movie snow," because it seems, well...almost fake. you know the kind, big, fat, fluffy flakes that swirl around you and fill the air so it's impossible not to tell it's snowing, and they stick to everything, especially (and most importantly) the ground. i always feel like i'm in a movie when i see snow like that. i was just walking along and laughing like a stupid person with my arms out and my head thrown back (for another great thing about movie snow is it's ideal for catching flakes on your tongue). it was like being in a snowglobe that somebody just shook really well. i felt like i was an extra in holiday inn or white christmas (two of the best holiday movies ever). of course, white christmas was about a white christmas, but it was funnily ironical because they all went on holiday to vermont for the snow, but it was all hot and greeny-brown. so they put on a christmas show for their old pal in the army (world war II, practically ancient history to us), and at the end, it finally did snow! of course, there's a lot more to the movie than that, like bing crosby and danny kaye and rosemary clooney, but i think you get the general idea. oops, my movie geekiness is showing. *ahem* sorry about that.
