the maggots are screaming agitatedlyfeeling ambivalent about dir en grey's new single. it's definitely thrash-a-licious and kicks serious ass, but where is the melody? there isn't one. the guitar riffs are pretty repetitive, and we don't get to hear any of kyo's lovely singing voice. he just goes screamy-screamy-scream-scream. *shrugs* i'm sure it'll grow on me. after all, i couldn't stand clever sleazoid when it first came out, and now it's ALMOST my favorite dir en grey song. whoever said that agitated screams of maggots sounded like clever sleazoid remixed, they're absolutely right. it DOES sound like that. it also sounds like there's a bit of jesus christ r'n'r thrown in as well. huh.
i love the album art, though.
on a completely different note, those gothic windows with the pointed arches are called LANCET windows. it was the only question on my historic preservation test that i couldn't remember. my mind went absolutely blank, and i kept thinking they were called lamprey windows, for some reason, when we all know that lampreys are actually a type of jawless fish that latch onto other fish and suck their blood. a helpful diagram of the lamprey can be found here.
