just one thing first: i don't want house's team to come back. i don't care if he "needs" them. house should not have the warm and fuzzies.
except for cuddy, of course.
that was the best and worst part of my day: lisa edelstein saying that all three of those stinkers were coming back (me: nooo! then why were they in such a hurry to leave last season? i don't want to see any more of the Chase-and-Cameron Show!), and then lisa edelstein saying that house and cuddy were extremely likely to hook up, that it was the writers' intention.
i just love it when the people on the show make my ship canon. it's like they're finally acknowledging all us fangirls shouting in their ears.
this is fantastic and wonderful:
...maybe i've had a few too many mai tais, but that's great.
and this commercial is awesome:

and this:
and some of the fabulous helen!
from sholay, which i don't think i can even describe the famousness of:
a particularly good one, from caravaan:
and helen now (and by now, i mean 2000), because she's still got it. helen's character in mohabbatein was actually named miss monica, since the above song was so famous. catch srk's "monica, oh my darling!
(and turn the sound waaaay down if you want to keep your eardrums.)

really. you think you know, but you have no idea.
but it's also kind of fun. because once you've let go of your sanity, you should just do whatever.
fun feeling.
and this is so true:

...or at least guilts him into it, anyway (which is pretty much the same thing). i'd love to have a coterie of backup dancers that'd magically appear whenever i was in a crisis situation.
there are like a billion and a half remixes of boyz. why is that?
and none of them are as good as the original, either.
m.i.a. owns '07.
looking for songs to use for esha's wedding, which is kinda harder than it seems, considering how big a role weddings play in bollywood films. but we're all girls, so i can't use any duets or anything.
asha bhosle kicks ass, no matter how old she is:

i suppose that if we're talking about weddings, wah wah ramji is the obvious classic, but nimbooda (from hum dil de chuke sanam) might work:
considering that it's a song about a lemon, it's still good.
and of course there's always chane ke khet main,
even though it's about getting molested in a field of chickpeas. and the lyrics are quietly disturbing if you listen hard enough.
...oh, and while i'm here, this one's just plain fun:
so there.
and by the way, who's pissed about this 'gap year' for the Doctor? i don't want three specials written by rtd, i want my steven moffat! he just got another Hugo for his work on Who, you guys. better represent! series five in 2010....aargh, losing it already....

or if it was, they didn't say it anywhere.
and you know google likes to smear its logo feces across the landscape.
and if it was previously "powered by google," i wonder why it says so now, when before it didn't.
the problem is, google is getting to be everywhere. and i can't help it, i'm just another enabler, because it really is that easy to "google it" and find whatever the hell you're looking for. piece of cake.
this proliferation of google is a little worrying (at least to me) because i don't think it's at all possible to have a monopoly on the internet.
but it seems like google is putting in a bid, anyways.
they're pretty shrewd, and i'd like to know exactly how far they're planning to take this.
and what they'll do next.
kind and beneficent amassers of free information vs. evil puppetmasters of doom?
two days in a row at the dentist, about an hour apart, same song on the radio, heard in the pause between the drilling and the filling: rihanna's umbrella. same part of the song, too. odd.
and because i have to, now: "you can stand under my umbrella ella ella ay ay ay under my umbrella ella ella ay ay ay."
annoying song, but the chorus has high stuck-in-head-ability quotient nonetheless.
for your gums: first they do the numbing gel that tastes like watermelon on a little swab, then they stick the needle in partway, inject a little, and stick it in farther, rocking it back and forth.
this is always the best part.
but they tell you not to look at the needle. because you might get scared.
i have watched:
three korean dramas (witch yoo hee, sweet spy--can i just say how hawt dennis oh is?!, my name is kim sam soon)
the original star wars trilogy (common themes: people/things getting their hand/arm chopped off because that's what lightsabers do, people falling down/into deep holes-the sarlaac also counts here-oh, and no matter what anyone else up to and including george lucas says, han so shot first)
episode one (i shouldn't have, but queen amidala does the strong female thing)
mr. & mrs. smith (the original hitchcock-directed one, not that piece of shit with wotshername)
the barkleys of broadway
a hentai which delights in the title of midnight sleazy train (original japanese title, not engrish)
eddie izzard's dress to kill
the robin hood 2006 tv series
green wing series 2 and the christmas special
all of black books
kal ho naa ho
walk the line
a matter of life or death
the holiday (in a fit of girlish abberation)
most of the densha otoko drama
part of mohabbatein (friend them and the rest will come)
...i'm sure there was more, but you can only remember eight things at a time (or words to that effect).
it has been pointed out that this is true (sad, true and sad, sad because it's true), and i would be inclined to agree with that assessment:
potter puppet pals go freestyle, then go away forever:
lambada was called "the forbidden dance" for a reason. scandalousness! but that kid can freaking dance:
m.i.a.'s official vid for boyz came out, and wow is it seizure-inducing:
but still colorful.
ELO, how do i love thee? let me count the ways...
of interest to noone but myself, a video that was made for a 1983 japanese anime convention called daicon IV using ELO's twilight:
and since it was apparently an influential amv (or con, possibly), the densha otoko drama team decided the show's opening credits should be a tribute:
and then you run, because it's easier than staying
and you wonder why it should be this way
but you never cared enough to find out
and so it goes
happy now?
"i am concerned with the answers, not the questions; though you may argue that the two are inextricably linked, and one cannot exist without the other. and perhaps this is so. but i will tell you again, it is the answers and only the answers that concern me."

what would the doctor do?
some outtakes from the tom baker era, including one of his many memorable "swearing at K-9" moments:
part 1 of the curse of fatal death, for comic relief (featuring rowan atkinson and hugh grant, among others, as the doctor, and jonathan pryce as the master)
and part 2:
